AB OF 95 SOUTH

Artice Bartley, professionally known as A.B., is an original member of the iconic hip-hop group 95 South, best known for their global anthem “Whoot, There It Is.” Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, A.B. played a key role in helping popularize the Florida bass sound, a high-energy, bass-driven style that defined an era of 1990s hip-hop and dance culture.

Although closely associated with South Florida’s club scene, Florida bass resonated far beyond the state—fueling radio hits, sports chants, and party anthems recognized worldwide. As a founding member of 95 South, A.B. helped create music that transcended regional boundaries and became part of global pop culture.

Today, Artice Bartley (A.B.) continues to represent and preserve the legacy of Florida bass music through live performances, appearances, and cultural events—connecting generations through one of hip-hop’s most recognizable records.
